What does remanufactured mean?

The terms "remanufacture" and "recycle" are used interchangeably in our documentation. They mean the same thing. Basically, we take a used cartridge and perform many steps to make it work as well, and last as long, as a brand new cartridge. We do not use the dubious refill kits that so many of our customers have reported don’t work. We have a professional manufacturing process using special equipment to achieve our results.

In general these are the manufacturing steps we take. We clean the cartridges inside and out, paying special attention to and testing the print head and electrical circuits. The individual ports that the ink is ejected through are all cleaned with a special machine. Each cartridge requires a special formula of ink. We install that ink with various instruments and techniques to put the ink right up to and behind the print head. We purge the print head and cartridge system of unwanted air and properly pressurize the cartridge. Each cartridge is then individually print tested, most multiple times, to insure that each jet is working properly. After a final cleaning the cartridge is sealed using an expensive reusable plastic clip that protects the print head and electrical circuitry. Each cartridge is then sealed in bubble wrap, and a 5mil plastic over-wrap, and a labeled box. All of these steps put together produce a cartridge that works as well and lasts as long as a brand new cartridge.

What is the warranty?

Congratulations on purchasing the finest remanufactured ink jet cartridges available. Many steps are taken to insure your satisfaction. However sometimes problems occur with any print cartridge, new or remanufactured. If this happens the buyer is encouraged to take advantage of this warranty. TFP brand remanufactured cartridges are guaranteed to print as well, and last at least as long as a new cartridge of the same type by the original manufacturer. The guarantee is for a time period not to exceed ninety days. Cartridges with less than twenty-five percent of the ink remaining will not be considered for warranty replacement. Cartridges that fail due to an electrical surge are not covered as that is beyond the control of the seller. Unused cartridges may be returned for a refund less a 25% restocking fee.

If you think your cartridge is eligible for warranty replacement, contact the seller at: support@tfpink.com for instructions. Upon authorization you will need to send the cartridge along with your name and address, proof of purchase (the invoice), a description of the problem, and a copy of the email authorization.

The seller does not reimburse the shipping cost to return the cartridge. Cartridges qualifying for warranty will either be repaired or replaced, and returned to the buyer with the seller paying the cost of shipping back to the buyer.

Warranty for Jumbo Orders (greater than 30 cartridges purchased at one time): Same as above except the warranty period is thirty days and is limited to cartridge replacement, not refund.

Why does high capacity mean?

Many HP and Lexmark cartridges have two versions.  The only difference is the amount of ink in the cartridges.  The Fine Print brand cartridges featured here are all high capacity.  We do not sell the regular, or half-filled, version.  This results in a substantial savings for the customer because the cartridges last nearly twice as long.

What is the shelf life / expiration date?

Many people ask about the expiration dates. Our cartridges do not have an expiration date because they are freshly remanufactured. Since they are fresh they can be considered new as far as the question of longevity is concerned. The seller recommends that you purchase your cartridges no more than 90 days before you intend to use them. In practice, they can probably sit on your shelf for a year and still work perfectly. However the seller chooses to limit their liability to 90 days.

What is the clip?

Please read the "What does remanufactured mean?" section to understand our process. It is imperative that all cartridges are stored with the print head facing down and the clip left on until ready to use. The reason for this is that with the print head facing down, gravity holds the ink just behind the print head. Our cartridges are packaged in our boxes to sit on your shelf correctly. Even the original manufactures package this way. The clip needs to stay on the cartridge so that the ink that is in the print head doesn’t dry up. If this happens, the jets will be clogged and you will get streaking in your print. Leave the cartridge packaged and sitting upright in the box until you are ready to use it. Save the clip to install on your empty cartridge for protection it if you plan to sell it back to us.

Do you buy empty cartridges?

We always need to buy good empty cartridges. We pay market value for any cartridge listed on this website. These will all be cartridges with a print head, not just a tank. Cartridges are delicate and can be damaged easily. Please use the clip (packaged with any cartridges purchased from us) on your used cartridge to protect its print head and electrical circuitry. Save and send several cartridges at a time along with a note telling us you want to sell them and giving us your email address. We will pay you via PayPal.

We will reimburse your shipping cost if the cartridges are good. Any cartridge that is not good enough for us to recycle will be thrown away, and of course we can’t pay for those. If you take care of your used cartridges, most of them will be good enough and we will pay you for them.
